I recently picked up a nice crx, anybody who tries stealing it will be killed.

I almost agree, if not for the fact that its illegal. But I don't know what I would do if I caught someone trying to steal my car. I would have to keep myself from doing something I would not want to do.

I don't know where I saw it, but there was a guy here on the board that just put a note on his car.

 

Goto school and learn how to install alarms... a $100 alarm can be made to keep a car from being stolen, IF installed correctly ( not like installing the wiring right, just installing where it will be VERY TIME CONSUMING TO HOT wiring it ).

A best buy or C.city alarm install can be by-passed in about 15secs...

I'm installed $1000 cliffard alarms that could be by-passed extremly easy if installed by a cliffard dealer, b/c they have rules..

Installer normally could care less if your cars gets stolen, they work there to get paid, the more cars they finish a day, the more money the shop can make, the more money an installer makes a shop, the more the shop takes care of the installer..

I've installed key-less entry alarms in civic in about 40minutes...

The alarm in my 01' focus took 12 hours !!!
The alarm in my civic will be a $100 "POS" that will be almost impossible to by-pass. and even if someone COULD by-pass it, it would take at least 15minutes to do so...

someone can probably get in your car and take the stuff inside.. but its better than them taking the whole car. your car can maybe still get stolen, but would someone really go through all the problem for a crx?

make a switch for your fuel pump and hide the switch.

a good car theif could kill those in less than 2 minutes...

And walking around the mall with a steering wheel isn't the coolest look around..

So you put the club on your detachable steering wheel while its in your room?

 

take the plug wires home with you and disconnect the coil. sounds simple but where will a theif find plug wires. especially if theyre for an engine that didnt come with the car.

i was thinking the other day, why the hell don't they have some kind of axle/hub lock system, to where they will lock in place so it won't roll????

and also is there any kind of brace that locks around all three pedals so they don't move??, i am assuming theres probably something like this, if so i need to get some, (and they can't be made out of metal thats cuttable, or its useless)

its funny how the crx is'nt a ferrari, but in my mind its the only car i want right now and i am always kind of paranoid about it being taken from me, and i will do anything to stop it from happening, but i can't do everything since i only have limited $$$$

its true that the detachable steering wheel is a cool thing, but i was thinking the same thing about having to walk around with it, especially if you went downtown to a club, and thats the most place you would'nt want your car stolen, but yet you can't use the detachable steering wheel anyway, cause you would look like a complete *** in a club holding a steering wheel, even if its in a bag.

 

To make it even worse no damn body keeps "full coverage" on a damn 91' crx.. Your car dissappears, you lose...

It is sad that we have to think unque ways to protect a almost 20 year old car..

ugly civics with go fast motors are in demand on teh black market.

 

cut out the Alternator or Ignition system or fuel pump with a simple home depot switch. hide it somewhere good. and bam done. or do all.
but if u can hide it good enough and make sure u dont have obvious wires goin to it, and u cant see where u spliced it u should be good to go.

 

detachable steering = use vise grips, the best thing is the auto lock and and an audible alarm, Autolock so your whole car don't get bagged and the alarm so your **** in your car don't get bagged.

Just use a thick *** chain and chain your front wheels to your backs wheels.

detachable steering wheel aint gonna do ****. jus make them plot yer ride and be prepared wit a steering wheel to drive away wit yer load. they want it. they'll get it.

install hidden kill switchs for crucial electrical devices on the car. alt, ecu, ignition
make it as hard as possible for them to do it and maybe it'll deter them.
easily visible deterents can be plotted.

and in the end. if they really want it, they'll jus flat bed it away
