Why would you push limits on an untuned motor with big cams and a stock timing belt?

my tach hasnt been working, and v-attack and i just got it hooked up. i just wanted to see if the tach worked throughout the whole powerband. i thought i had a 9K limiter.

that was just a one time thing. (or 2)

willing to bet that you aren't making any more power with the cams above 9150rpm.... If you rev to 10k you're just doing it to do it... go a head, the springs will handle it, but it's just a waste of time IMHO

Bah, been there, done that, at least twice a week for the last year and a half :D All on the stock timing belt with no signs of wear. Jun 3s don't break timing belts like Toda cams, they just break

welcome to the club its scary up in that territory sometimes, especially 4th and 5th gears because its up there for sooooo lonnnnnnnggggggg you just wait for a rod to come flying out. I just got back from some highway tuning, that was fun. Hitting the dyno up tomorrow hopefully to see how she does after leaning out the whole powerband. I was running very rich, now its running optimal and it just feels so smooth and crisp. It just keeps pullin and pullin and pullin...

Ryan, who is also on the stock timing belt and j00n3z

i accidently hit 9700rpm once on a stock valvtrain and belt. (jdm itr)
it was scary as hell. i also miss shifted once and my vafc said "9999rpm". i busted my flywheel on that one.
but i've upgraded to skunk2 stg2 cams and valvesprings w/ greddy timing belt. haven't installed yet. busy schedule. about to deploy for 3 months.
