Need help with swap, throwing a code 8????
I got an 88 civic dx hatch, and the block blew. I had extra long block that came off of an 91 crx hf. I swap the motor out leaving it DPFI. Last night we got the motor to start up, but the check engine light came on. The ECU threw a Code 8:
TDC Sensor (Top Dead Center)
defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
What does that mean? Where should I check or change? The engine sounds good, but it just has the check engine light on.

I changed the distributor but the same happens...Can I change the TDC sensor in the distributor...does anyone know how the TDC sensor looks like...

First of all there is no TDC sensor in the DX, what you are thinking is Cylinder Position Sensor. Only the MPFI cars had that.
If you get a TDC code it most likely means your belt timing is off.
