I just installed a new timing belt and balnce shaft belt. I had a leak dripping about 1 drop a day. When i did the water pump and belts , I noticed the oil was coming from the seal that was above to the left of the crankshaft seal. I was wondering what seal that would be. I was thinking it was maybe the oil pump seal. I went to a mechanic and the told me the oil that was dripping was the cam seal or the crankshaft seal i replaced both of those also and that didnt fix it. PLease help!

 

not too sure but there was a recall on the oil seal retainer on some of the accords. not too sure but my old 94 dx and currently 94 ex both had the oil seal retainers recalled.but you are probaly talking about something totally different. call to see if your car is elgible

 

That would be your balance shaft seal. They are notorious for leaking until you replace it along with installing the little retainer. I did all three seals just this past year, works good, lasts long time.....I hope!!

 

thanks i could not find out what the name of that seal was. now when i get 2 hours free i can fix
