Default hard to go in first

i got recently bought a 98 accord. i began to notice lately that when i put the clutch in from neutral to 1st, i have to give it an extra nugge to get it in. but if i went to any gear and went to 1st, it would go in smoothly. and also when im comming to a stop i pu the clutch in and go to remove the shifter from a gear(usually 2&3) it kinda feels like the clutch is still sticking to it. any ideas? thanks alot. its got all highway miles on it and the shifter still feels new, heck the car looks new! i dont see it as a problem, i just hope its not the beginning of one thanks alot for the help..

98 accord ex 129k seriously, runs like it has 50 k on it.

well lets see nothing with the clutch assembly touches the shifter... so thats out of the way.. and when your slowing down don't stick it in first till your almost completely stopped or else yes it'll be hard to go into it.

I dont know what it is, but I used to get ot occasionally in the past on my h22. Havent had it in a while, but all I did was double clutch and it goes right in. If going to first doesnt go in, let go of the clutch, step on it again, then go into gear.

Yeah my accord does that too, but I thought it might have something to do with the LSD.......

Also check and see if your clutch slave cylinder is leaking fluid, and that the resivour is full. Common Honda problem if I'm not mistaken. Happened on my moms '94 Accord at around 140-150k miles somewhere (couldn't get into any gears without pumping it a few times).

Also like briq4 said, change tranny fluid. Honda MTF is pretty good stuff

Synchros', slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, air in the system, fluid level in tranny.

yeah, mine sometimes doesn't want to go into 1st gear from a stop. Usually after I heat up the clutch a little. I have 60K, should I change the tranny fluid yet?

I got both problems in my 95 LX. Its hard to get into first, and when I have it above 4000 RPM (which i usually do) it grinds going into third. Gets annoying.
