Default Bumper support, leave on or off for i/c

I'm curious how many of you with front mounts have just taken off the bumper support to fit the i/c. On my rex I'm thinking of just taking it off instead of hacking it all up to fit the i/c. What has everyone else done?

take the rear off and leave the front one on.. the rear is the heavy one..
the front one doesnt save that much weight..

keep it!

I had to do a lil trimming. Also, wtf is that bigass solid metal shock thing attached behind the composite plastic, I threw mine away! It was quite heavy

ummm ALLMOTOR....he wasn't talking about saving weight he was talking about what to do in order to fit his intercooler in there...IMO you should trim it in case you do ever get into a wreck or something it will help a lot believe it or not...i have had my expierence

get a reasonable sized IC and leave the support stock. That is what i did. It is safer and doesn't sacrifice much cooling. my core is 2.25x7x26 not really tiny.

On crx's it's a pain to fit an i/c w/ the stock bumper support though. I was thinking of hacking it up, but if I sell the car w/ that **** in there...what if the new owner gets in an accident, they discover the fucked up support, and sue my ***. Isn't it mainly designed for low speed accidents?

If the person buys your car is because he/she is also into the sport... so just let them know before hand

Ok, just wanted to make sure I wasn't out of my mind. I see a lot of others took theirs off, so mine is coming off. And if I get in a minor fendor bender it'll most probably be totaled anyways, boo hoo Thanks for all the replies

take it off and fabricate aluminium bumper supports at the sides to keep the bumper from flapping. This will not only save weight, make more room for turbo intercooler, keep the asthetics looking stock, make more cool air run through, but will be a fun project.
