i got a like 99 type R cd player, and the plug on my 95 integra lS wont fit the back of the type R, WHY!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure...but I believe the plugs changed in 98

 

where could i get a plug like that?

 

plugs are the same. Not sure why it doesnt fit. Just go buy a wiring harness. No need to worry over something this simple

 

correct.. all hondas changed plugs in 98

 

yupe....different plugs. metra makes a plug so you can direct plug it in. check with your local install shop.

 

I have a 98 Integra CD player in my 95 and the plugs popped right in. Not sure what the problem is...

 

Same here have a 00 cd player and plugged up in my 95

 

i've interchanged wiring harness from 92 integra to 00 integra before. i didn't have any problem. i'm pretty sure honda didn't change plugs. as far as i know, civic prelude, integra, accord (old ones) plugs are all interchangeable.

 

I sold a my deck to a friend with a 94 integra and it fit his car without modification.
My car is a 2000 by the way

Honda change all their radio plugs for 99+ Integras. You can look at the back of a metra harness box and it will list 94-98 Integra as the same, 99+ needs a different harness, thus Honda change the plug beginning 99+.

 

Regardless, just find the correct pinning order (shouldnt be too tough) and solder the wires in place.

 

You sure it's not a cd player from an '00 Civic? Those have different plugs. I bought one and the guy made a conversion plug.

incorrect, had a tpe r cd player in my 98 gs and 96 ls, and one in my freinds 94 ls.

 

you are all right. honda changed its plugs in 98. some models stilled used the old plug into 99. there are 2 different honda/acura metras.

the 70-1720 is a 86-99 honda/acura and is this


they also used in 98 and newer honda/acuras the 70-1721 which is this.



so there ya go. maybe they reused older type-r radios in the newer type-r's?

 

I have a 2001 cd player in my 95 and it plugged right up and everything works perfectly.

 

thats weird, mine popped in with no problems as well...

It won't fit because it belongs in my LS.. :evil grin: Send it to me and I'll make it fit.
