maryland shop that will do swap cheap?
i drive a 88 CRX Si and want to swap in a B17A. i have everything needed for the swap and i am going to keep it OBD1. i have called a few places and they have told me around $1000. if anyone knows a place that does swaps for less than $900 then i would like to know. i live around glen burnie, so any place in central maryland, baltimore, or DC is ok. thanks, isaac.
take 300 bucks buy a good set of tools. rent an engine life and do the swap yourself. its a pretty straight forward swap. all you have to wire is vtec and a knock sensor. the rest is all straight forward bolt in stuff. i know it seems overwhelming. but you really could do it. just do a little research.
well, i would attempt the swap if i had a garage, but i do not. i have some tools, but i don't have all the necessary tools for an engine swap. the garage is the main reason though.
There are really not a lot of shops in Maryland that will do a good swap for cheap. They will tell you "oh yeah we can do that, EASY" but the fact of the matter is that the quality of the swaps I have seen from "shops" around Maryland are not that great. A place in Lisbon, up by MT. Airy did my old ZC swap years ago and he did an ok job(not that it's a hard one), but he charges a lot and doesn't like to do B motor swaps because he feels the wiring is to hard. The buys name is Ben Shaffer Its called Shaffers imports
hahah thats crazy Ben Does good work he did my swap he does good quality work no cut corners used hasport all the way got a good motor for me let me inspect before he put it in the car kept me posted he gets a 9-10 from me because it took forever but hey cant complain... and u know minor thigs I have had to deal with lately witht hemotor but common stuff that happen with any swap.... but dont dis ben he does great bseries swaps. wires up vtec and the whole 9 yards.

hey, i have the B17A w/ YS1 trans, stock ecu(p61), wiring harness, axles, shift linkage(everything is from a 1992 Integra GSR), and OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness. i am going to keep the swap OBD1 and my car is 88 CRX Si which is OBD0. if you are interested and know what you are doing and i am interested. how long would it take you to complete the swap though?
