I can clean my calipers with....
I can't believe it, I couldn't find one topic about cleaning calipers on this entire forum. I must be a stunna for wanting to clean mine up.
Right before the expo, mine looked excellent. 5 months later and 5-6 track days later, they look like a meatloaf. Very Brown and nasty. (they don't taste or smell like meatloaf, too bad) Kinda like my black spray-painted millenias, which are now brownish due to brake dust. Since I only have 1-2 more track days before winter sets in, I figure I better spruce everything up. You know, the ladies love PY R's with clean calipers and 30 pound steelies.
So...
- Carb Cleaner?
- Brake Cleaner?
- Scrub with simple green + water? (notice i said scrub, not soak or submerge)
Sandblast would be the best, but I ain't got no sandblaster.
Thanks all.

I'd worry about putting brake cleaner on, as it may damage the rubber boots on pins and pistons (read the label for more info). Additionally, some brake cleaner is chlorinated, so that can accelerate corrosion, IIRC.

Soak them in mouthwash, then use your fav tooth paste and tooth brush. Should come out with a nice colgate smile. And smell good too fucko.

Worked great on my old ones.

Wow, so you guys got them back to that gold color? I'm going to have to sit down and try this... Mine have been brown forever, i just thought the gold was paint or something that just died away!
haha, i'm an idiot.

what works for me is using brake cleaner the baddest stuff you can find and then srubbing it with a steel brush ...the ones you use to clean your BBQ grill.
depending on how bad your situation is.... it should make your stuff go BlangbUbulanglang...
