Default Question about 88-91 Canadian models

how do the Canadian civic hatchback models translate to the American models for this generation? I have a 91 Canadian CX hatchback and I was wondering if it translated to the DX model in US. Thanx. Also which of these generation civics is easiest to do an engine swap? with like B-series engines, thanx

Canadian US
CX DX with a difference in rear wiper and vinyl seats but the motor and tranny was a 92hp DX
DX DX same
SE DX almost the same as DX but with std body colored bumpers and few other small options
Si Si

the easiest is the Si since it already is a MPFi not DPFi, so all it needs is to be wired for vtec...others will need to be re-wired to MPFi first then vtec...

SE is mpfi as well. well the 91 SE's are for sure. not certain about the 88s but im 95% sure they're mpfi as well.
i always wanted to find out what the engine and ecu codes that the SE's had were. like whether they just used an si ecu and a D15B2 block or not.

canadian cx is basically us std. model with the engine from a dx
dx=dx
si=si

You were close...

Canada got the CX,DX,SE DX & SI

US got Base model which equals a Canadian CX, otherwise all other models are the same...

the CX/US base model got a 70something HP POS engine(not the same as the HF, but a Detuned DX engine) with a 4 speed Manual that is a bigger pos than the HF tranny...

Best platform would be the CX/base model since it is stripped to the bone already and has power nothing....
