Precision SC 61 not spinning at idle.

We just installed a brand new precision sc 61 on a friends car and it doesnt spin at idle unless you rev it up a decent amount. it will spin for about 5 seconds and then stop. It spins freely by hand when the engine is off. i'm thinking this may be normal..?

Maybe in another 15 minutes.

I dunno really i belive my turbo spins at idle no problem.

i think that turbo is messed up and or is not lubricated. did you prime the turbo? Sounds someone just lost 700 dollars

nothing wrong with ur turbo, just give it some time. If u give it some gas and it will spin.

Nope, have a brand new SC61 on a turbocharged S2000 right now in the shop and it does not spin at idle. Bump the gas a tad and it spins.

not worried at all.. the car runs and boosts perfectly. hes on the road right now 4 hour drive to miami to get it tuned at south florida performance. we're hoping for 400 on pump gas. I'll post the results.

good luck at SFP. frank will tune your car perfectly trust me. he does all my tuning and i have never had an issue. by the way i am the one that got the turbo for that car and the turbo looked fine to me. i didnt notice any clearance issues with the blades or anything.

There's nothing wrong. there just isn't enogh exhaust gas to spin the turbine at idle.

My T3/T4 was the same way. It used to spin when I first put it on. After being used for a few thousand miles it stopped spinning at idle. Majestic said that is normal. As long as it spins freely when you give it gas or when the car is off you are good.
