Help! Taking out pedals.
Im trying to take out the pedals and the bracket. the steering column is off, but i dont know how to finish. The brake pedal seems to be connected to the cylinder, and the bracket extends up towards the wiring. Im stumped. 20 bux to whoever can take em out. HB Socal
yea, its a bitch. i paid someone to do mine. u need to disconnect the brake pedal from the master cylender. as for the other bracket, try to trace it up. i think u have to take out a vent duct (the far left one)

steering column is out, pedal bracket bolts (or nuts, i should say) are off, clutch cable disconected, brake cylinder disconnected, throttle cable disconnected, and it still wont go. By looking at it i think i need to remove the heating ducts and move aside the fuse box. The longer i work on it the less i wanna live. By the looks of the pedal bracket its been broken before and some shmoe did a crappy weld job on it, the clutch pedal was always very stiff. My only concern is when i put the steering column back in to line up the splines at the end so my car wont pull to the side. by the way, anyone got an old pedal bracket they wanna sell me?
You dont have to take off the fuse box but you will have to either take out the heat duct or atleast squeeze inbetween them to get to the top bolt.
As for being worried about not lining up the column correctly dont worry about it that thing will spin and spin so it doesnt matter which way you put it on but the one thing you might have to do is take off your steering wheel and put it back on centered. Or you could just try to line it up when your putting it back together as well but I never worried about it I would rather just get the thing in there and then work up top straightening the wheel rather than trying to get the grooves to line up and lining up the steering wheel at the same time.

Did you remove the two 12mm (I think) nuts that are under the guage cluster area? I think they are connected to the bracket that supports the steering column. I had to remove a pedal assembly and I thought I had everything removed. I took off all the nuts on the firewall, disconnected the clutch cable, throttle cable, and the brake booster, but I just couldn't get the assembly off. After ripping apart the dash, I found that there were 2 more bolts holding it in. HTH.

I thought those just held up the column and didnt have anything to do with the pedals?

Actually, they're behind those two. They're really hard to see from above. You kinda have to lie on your back and look up from the floor. I had to remove that air duct and push the wiring around to find them. More towards the firewall, below the gauge cluster. It took me about 1.5 hours to get the assembly out, just because I couldn't find those two nuts.

There is a bolt behind the air duct that you need to remove, make sure you get that and if you get every other nut and bolt off it should just come out.

The best way to see what needs to be removed, at least it worked for me , lol, was find a pedal assembly that was already out and look at were the bolt holes are. That's how I figured it out, still haven't got mine out yet though. Not looking forward to it either.

A bolt nehind the air duct, DAHM. WHen im down there looking at it i swear theres no more bolts holding in the bracket. I can get it to wiggle but it seems that the two heater ducts are geting in the way.
