why do full drag cars have radiator fans?
The cooler the better man, Why not?... Some all motor cars run no radiators at all, and some methanol cars run real really small radiators.
hmmmm.....our car doesnt get 160' at idle for atleast 10mins....at the end of the track im usually 190.....then im back down to 160 at the scales...and im even running a filled block...our CR is the one with the Stewartpump in the side...i know my old car with its fludyne ran very hot....maybe its the radiator...

i would think the one benefit to having a fan is for eliminations. sometimes the track/sanctioning body tries to rush things and thats about the only time i see it coming in handy. like a round robbin situation. i used to use mine through the burnout box and flip it off for the run.......probably didn't do much except make me "think" it was helping....haha.

I would assume the reason is because they are mostly sitting idle, and even when going down the track, there is little airflow to the radiator with full fiberglass front ends.
I think you'd probably be suprised how hot your car can get when racing on a radiator with little to no airflow.
