Well i finally got a chance to look inside my turbo after breaking a bolt...Took the compressor blade off to get to it, and while looking at it, i noticed something was cracked...i'm guessing i can only get this with those rebuild kits...

 

Are you sure it's cracked? Maybe it's just the 270deg thrust bearing?

thats what i bet it is, way to clean to be cracks.. IMO

what kind of turbo is it????

 

its a t3...i was looking at the rebuild kits and the pics they had of it was all intact and a whole...it goes on the compressor and has a small o ring underneath it...

 

its similar to the black piece on the bottom right.

 

that blue color really looks odd, like the turbocharger is being oil starved. how are the bearings in this turbo? If that peice is steel, and the color is deep blue, that surface is heating up to roughly 600 degrees F.

 

its called a carbon seal.

HAHA sorry about that...its just the reflection of my computer screen...

anyone know where i can get a carbon seal seperately? its not suppose to be broken, right?

just get a rebuild kit for your turbo,or call majestic,they can sell you the carbon seal by itself,bt ince you took it all apart id suggest you send it off to get it rebuilt proffesionally.
