are there any advantages and disadvantages to any of them? I may be getting a new tranny soon. The guy I spoke with says he has some B16A trannies and no ITR tranny. He said he can just add a LSD on to it. Are there any differences between the two trannies? which one would you all reccomend? TIA

 

BTW, I have a stock GSR tranny right now. Is the B16A tranny the same as mine basically?

b16 is the same as the usdm ITR w/ no LSD.

 

They are very similiar, the only difference is the final drive ratio and a slight difference with 5th gear. The final drive of the b16a with J1/S1 tranny is 4.4 and the ITR is 4.785. There was another tranny for the b16a, but it had less aggressive gears.

I would definitely recommend the ITR tranny, but it's a hydro tranny and can cause problems depending on what car it goes in.

The ITR tranny has dual cone synchros and beefed-up shafts and gears on top of what the B16 has.
