Default So I attended the 2003 NHRA races in Sonoma... car looked like a ricer :p

Here are a couple of photos that a friend took of my car at the 2003 NHRA Sport Compact Races in Sonoma...I was runner up in the ET-2 bracket class, a .407 red light prevented me from repeating my 2002 NHRA ET-2 bracket win...1 Wally, so close to another...oh well, had a lot of fun and met a lot of friends. Thanks for the photos Graham.

Thanks to Mike at IPS for his help throughout the year.

Thanks to John and John at HyTech for the quick fix when I was down visiting last month.

Thanks to Matt at Hondata for the help with the 3-step, I'm only using it as a 2-step, but it was quite helpful...damn red sticker is really hard to see under the IPS sticker.

Thanks to Lawrence at DynoSpot Racing for the last minute changes to the Cold Fuel Enrichment maps of the Hondata, car runs much better now...and after the tune up before the race it's running great.

Good idea with the magnets! It sucks that you didn't get another Wally, two would have been nice .

My lane and the lane next to it were all of the 13.99 and quicker cars...the MR2 behind me ran an 11.6 in practice before they had a little talk with him about roll bars, jackets, driveshaft loops, scattershield, and all of the other needed items.

Mine are magnets...they come off really quick...now if you'd seen the car when I arrived at your wedding , I think that they were surprised when I stepped out of the car dressed in a nice suit

Still getting used to the 2-step and having some serious traction issues...only a 13.8 before dial-in. My best 60 foot was a 2.12, but I spun the tires on my 1-2, and 2-3 shift...and was bracket racing, so I was on the brakes to prevent myself from breaking out I need to sit down and make a spreadsheet with my launch points and tire psi to see if I can find a decent pattern.

Link to current dyno plot and a list of the most below...I should be much quicker, but as SiR831 mentioned the BFG drag radials aren't doint that much good for me, need to get a set of slicks one of these days...

Stock cams with minor bolt-ons! Very Nice!

My mods include....

Icebox/K&nE2427/stock upper elbow, JDM 4-1, carsound cat, Apex-i N1, 18 Deg timing, No PS Belt, Mugen N1 ECU, and BF T/a Drag radials(which are no better than decent street tires), as I am sure you know Austin!

I won two races last year, took home $1,100 plus contingencies...I've also attended 4 track days this year, and 5 autocrosses, this is only the third drag race I've attended this year[/b]. Car now has 63,000 miles on it since I bought it 32 months ago...I drive the car, have a problem with that?

nice times , you will be suprise how much slicks help , the only down side about the R is that you have to run a 15' wheel . not like gsr which can run a 13' with a space built in . which you can get a lot better times then with 15'.
if you are interested in some slicks let me know i have some 15x8x22 (just the slicks since the rims im keeping ) since the new set up has way much TQ im going with 15x8.5x24.5

Cool. Looks like you had fun.

As for the drag racing comments, I don't understand drag racing a FWD four-banger either. That doesn't mean I have a problem with other people doing it, I just think an ITR is a ****-poor platform for that kind of racing. It's like using a screwdriver to drive nails. Why not just buy a hammer?

most V8 RWD cars cost slightly more than a hammer, 5.0 Mustangs excluded I think that for the most part, people that drag race front wheel drive cars arent out there to beat down V8s all day long, or be the fastest car at the track that day. You are there to run other FWD cars, and hopefully pull out a faster time than your last. People like to drive the **** out of their cars(as everyone here can relate to) no matter what kind of car it is. I see Pathfinders running bracket class and cleaning house on a regular basis. Unfortunately I(and others) cant afford to race HPDEs numerous times a year, THAT **** AINT CHEAP. However, I can bring my car to a local drag strip for $20, take a few runs, and go home. I cant help it if I happen to hand a few unsuspecting V8s their asses at the same time FWD drag racing is true drag racing, because the front wheels are dragging the car sorry to take this off topic Austin!
