Default Ever stripped wheels what did you use?

Ok....one of my wheels got dmg'd in a wreck a while ago so I've smoothed it out but the paint has to come off guy said he'd powder coat my wheels for 120$ but I dont know how to get that paint off......tried air plane paint remover and it removed the clear coat and some of the pain but not all of it and not the base primer ****.....their aluminum wheels let me know what you've used.

Sandblasting is my best way out but knowone hear does it really found one guy but wants wayt o much.

Try some other powdercoating shops. I had my wheels powdercoated and stripped at the same place.

Well I dont know if you have something like this by you but by me there is a do it yourself sandblasting place that has all different types of sandblasting materials and they are pretty cheap also yeah they charge by the minute but it still isnt very much plus everytime I went there and end up using it they always charged me less than what it would have been.

I think if the aircraft remover didnt work first try it again otherwise sandblasting them is pretty much your only option unless you want to sand the whole things down by hand!! There is probably other methods as well like getting them acid dipped but you have to be very careful with that and that can be very expensive as well.

I know that oven cleaner takes off powder coating and anodizing, but for such a large thing as a wheel or even all four might be a lot of work.
