Did you replace your thermostat?
I am not sure, but think at idle, coolent might just keep your engine cold enough for a duration of maybe 30 minutes, but not an hour as you said.

If it is your switch I would recommend a proformance switch and thermostat, such as Mugen. Keeps your engine a lot cooler.
Hey. I had this problem with an 88 accord. First of all. When you replace the fan switch in the radiator make sure you use a honda switch! I used a NAPA switch for mine and it didn't work. Even though the NAPA switch was for my accord it was made to operate in larger temperature ranges so it can fit a wide variety of cars and not just the accord. I then bought a honda switch and the damn thing worked fine. The Honda switch is even cheaper then the NAPA one was. And while you're at it make sure you change the thermostat!
