Best shocks combo? I did search
Before you start yelling about searching I read a few page about shocks and I still was not sure. So here is my question
I am going to be running GC coiovers on my 91 B16 CRX Si I don't want it slammed just aggressive. I am looking for a nice set of shocks to give a good feel and performance but affordable. I have been told koni yellow but they are a little pricey. Can somone please recommend a good set or if somone is selling a good set I would be interesed in that as well.
Thanks

Koni's are your best bet with Ground Controls. Bilsteins are good also, but not adjustable. Tokico Illuminas are next down the line, then AGX's. I'd probably try to stick with something around those levels with GC's. The most common setup is definitely Koni's.

I currently have Tokico Blues with a 1" drop on my GC. The ride does get a bit bouncy when the road gets rough, but other than that they ride very good. Plus they are pretty cheap. I've also heard that using some aftermarket 89 Accord shocks up front will give you more shock travel which will help with the ride. Do a search if you want to find out more info on that.

I recently compared all the Honda forks including the Accord ones and found the height to be identical , perhaps they are off a certain model Accord , ID. differed between a few also , FYI.

Aggressive? I guess you are going for "the look".
good feel and performance, but affordable? kyb agx around $300
From what I have read about konis, they are worth the money.
kyb agx's are only warranteed(sp?) for 1.5inch drop maxximum, my friend has been lowered 3 1/2+ inches in his 99civic ex coupe with no problems except bottoming out, and it ride like a dream compaired to my tokico blues and i am only lowered 1.25 inch " or so, we both have gc's too.

warranty is voided if you go 50% stiffer than OEM springrates also.
and its 1.25" drop , not 1.5.

Have you compared the size of the shock though?

Shox.com for almost any of the above-mentioned items. Tirerack.com also carries most of them with comparable prices, and they might be cheaper for shipping if they're closer to you.

Ground Control says the coilovers ore made for Koni or Bliestien?? I think I am going to hold off a month or two and get the Koni yellows. I guess I will be bouncing along for a couple of months...hehe

Well the thing is that they make the regular sleeves for all other shocks, and then for Koni and Bilstein shocks, they use a special adapter. This is because both the Koni and Bilstein shocks use a clip ring to hold the spring perch in place on the shock, and they use that to their advantage (however, as far as I know, the regular GC's without the adapters will work just fine on Koni/Bilsteins).
On all other shocks, the spring perch will be welded onto the shock body just like it is on your OEM shocks.
