Just installed Skunk2 IM, now REALLY High Idle...
Just installed the skunk2 Intake Manifold on my GSR. With GSR throttle body. I re-used the throttle body gasket because it looked to be in good condition. I also re-used the Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket (which I was told was a-ok).
I started the car finaly. The idle flew up to 3000 RPMS, then fluctuates from 2500 to 3000.
No CEL. The censors all seem to be good. All vacuum lines are connected properly. I know the car is running a bit rich, it was beforehand but the idle was only around 1000.
Is this just a big vacuum leak?
My only guess could be the throttle body. Am I right in thinking this?
The gasket looked perfectly re-usable though. Should I take it off, and put sealant? Or do I really need to get a new Gasket. And if I get a new gasket, should I use sealant?
I had an appointment with Church Automotive Testing, for Hondata tuning tomorrow at 11:00AM. So I guess it's another all nighter.
Any suggestions/tips on finding where the heck this leak is coming from? I'd hate to reschedule with such short notice.
-Thanks

probably vacuum leak(s), if you are re-using gaskets, it's a good idea to use a high quality silicone sealant.
If you have a pressure tester, it will tell you exactly where the leaks are, we all know how hard it is to really pinpoint leaks with the car running no?

You have a vacuum leak. Take a plastic bag, one that is of very light weight contruction. Hold the plastic bag, but let it float around the intake manifold. If you have a vacuum leak the plastic bag will get sucked into the open hole, causing the vacuum leak to get plug and your idle to return to normal. Recheck the t body gasket, intake manifold gasket, idle air control and intake air temp holes and make sure they arent leaking.
when we incorrectly installed my friends throttle body and intake manifold on his b16 there was a leak, but it was making a loud noise. my guess is that you need to either get a new gasket or check the t-body cable for any adjustmests.
Sounds like a vacuum leak. Get some starter spray at your local auto parts store and spray it all around the manifold (under it too). When you hit the leak, the car should come to a near stall.
