Super High Idle after Skunk2 IM Install.....
Just installed the skunk2 Intake Manifold on my GSR. With GSR throttle body. I re-used the throttle body gasket because it looked to be in good condition. I also re-used the Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket (which I was told was a-ok).
I started the car finaly. The idle flew up to 3000 RPMS, then fluctuates from 2500 to 3000.
No CEL. The censors all seem to be good. All vacuum lines are connected properly. I know the car is running a bit rich, it was beforehand but the idle was only around 1000.
Is this just a big vacuum leak?
My only guess could be the throttle body. Am I right in thinking this?
The gasket looked perfectly re-usable though. Should I take it off, and put sealant? Or do I really need to get a new Gasket. And if I get a new gasket, should I use sealant?
I had an appointment with Church Automotive Testing, for Hondata tuning tomorrow at 11:00AM. So I guess it's another all nighter.
Any suggestions/tips on finding where the heck this leak is coming from? I'd hate to reschedule with such short notice.
-Thanks

always use sealant. check your throttle cable, it may be to tight, just enough to hold your idle at 2500-300

it's your cold start valve, my GSR did the same thing. Even after the car warms up the idle still jumped up and down, at a stop light everyone next to me thought I was trying to race them, it was embarassing!

Sounds like you still have a leak somewhere.
Try spraying carb cleaner between the tb and mani, aswell in between the mani and the head.
If you have a leak in any of those areas, it will idle normal for a few seconds.
