Default hard to get into gear

it is very hard to get my tranny to go into first and second gear, the clutch is also slipping, would it be realated to the clutch or is it the tranny? it goes it, but it is hard. On another note, i have to push the clutch as hard as i can to the floor in order to start the car (clutch safety switch i guess) i have tried adjusting the cable but it seems to be as tight as it will go.

keep us updated, mine is having a hard time too... mainly first and second, does anyone know if honda has some safety feature that just won't let you go to first without being at pretty much a complete stop? I got a manual to CONTROL my tranny, but this POS won't let me

BUMP! I'm having a problem going into first sometimes too! I need to let off the clutch and press it again. Is that my synchro going or a bushing or a loose shift linkage?

if u give it a rev to about 3-4k it should go into first at about 15-20 mph

mine won't let me go into first no matter what unless I'm going under 5 mph... same goes to 2nd when going over 20 - if I'm in 3rd+ (I can't downshift around turns or anything unless I'm going really slow)

it's frustrating... and it grinds bad if I force it in there

TOP, so is it the clutch or what? I did notice some slipping in my clutch - especially at high RPMs... I shift into 3rd gear and my RPMs slowly drop, then start to climb again

i don't think its the clutch, i have a new exedy clutch in mine and sometimes i have to struggle with it to go into first, i even baught a new integ clutch cable didn't make that much of a diff, i'm thinking its my shift linkage replacing that sometime soon if that don't work cable trannies just suck, recently changed my s1 tranny for the a1 because of bad synchros, but mess with the *** to adjust the tension that helps

hard shifting is either the clutch or the forks. if the shift effort is higher than normal, then the shift forks are bent. if u force the car into gear, u WILL bend the shift forks. if the car just soesnt want to go into gear, then try adjusting the clutch. i know with my new trans and stock clutch the car doesnt want to go into first while rolling. but i can rev-match it in no problem. the first gear thing is how the trans is supposed to be IIRC.

double clutch and rev match.
I had problems too b4 but changed my release bearing and put in heavier tranny oil and it's gotten better.

changed pedal box, it had a crack in it, so when i tried to clutch it wasn't really pulling the cable to good, just flexing the metal box the pedals bolt to. damnit 3x

this is my situation, but try shifting down to 1st in its "zone" example, you could probably go up to 35mph or whatever, so when you get to 30 or somethin then shiftdown it should work. If you listen closely, you can hear gears rubbing on something when you try to shift. Anyone know if it's suppose to make that sound?
