Engine Swap or head and cam package? Which is better?
I have a 2002 Accord--
I've seen Gude's head and camshaft package that promises up to 58 hp. Any thoughts?
Obivously, this is less complicated than an Engine swap.
I just want a responsive daily driver, not a street racer.

i've been thinkin about this lately too... except i was considering a complete build-up but would like to learn more.
H22 is respectable and a great idea, so is boost.. those topics i've read about to death but i'm kinda interested what i'll be able to realize just by building up the engine i have.
anyone got info on building up the f23 (for NA)

not too many parts out there that i can think of off the top of my head. i would say turbo it if you want to keep your stock engine. and tune it obviously. or you could spend that money and get yourself an H22 then the possibilities are endless from there.

honestly sell your car and buy something faster. Gude sucks as mentioned above and an H22 swap to a new car like yours is just dumb, when you could trade your car in for a used lude. your other option would be turbo, if you don't want to sell your car.

My Accord is a slug but the ride kinda nice-- I was just wondering if there was any way of keeping the ride but make it more responsive.
From what you're saying, maybe I should just trade it in for a used WRX or STI(and get it over with).
What about rear drive?

exactly, although a Sti may be out of your price range. my next car will mostly likley be a wrx. if your car was older it would be more feasible do major work, but since it's so new it's much wiser to sell it for something faster.
rear drive is nice, but it's not a great winter car unless you have beamer or something with traction control. not many cars in the 25K price range are rear drive unless you go for a domestic or a used european car.

My only concern is the ride quality-- has you tried a WRX? Is the ride really that stiff(from what I heard)? And the handling(oversteer understeer neutral)?
We have the Jackie Robinson parkway that's only 1 1/2 car wide and suicide curves that was designed by an engineer who committed suicide. Not that I race, but I need car that can manage this atrocity with aplomb.

stiff compared to what? comparing a stock WRX to a z06, the ride is mush
but comparing a stock WRX to a stock Accord, the WRX handles on rails lol
the handling at the limit on a stock WRX with stock tires is understeer, it doesnt take much to get rid of it though, the WRX aftermarket is excellent

a stock wrx will out handle a stock a accord any day of the week. the 04 models have slightly stiffer struts, but they are still designed for rally racing so they still don't ride very stiff. most will say the suspension is too soft.a wrx will handle real world roads much at fast speeds better than a rsx.
