Get some self tapping bolts and put them through the floor thats how I got my gs-r interior into my hatch

I have 1990 CRX-Si seats in my 1991 STD. They don't bolt up. I had to weld some new brackets onto the stock Civic rails. They aren't perfect, but good enough.

I remember I did a search on here, and someone showed how he did it with bolt on brackets, I copied his design, but welded them.

It isn't easy, but I'm VERY glad I did it..

i'm pretty sure any year crx seat WILL NOT bolt right in to any year civic (and vice versa). to get the seats in there, you need to do some "custom" work.

they defiantely dont.

The rails are completely different, and the bottom of the seat bucket is also different.

thats not a safe thing to do. the floor pan isnt strong enough to hold the seat to the car in the event of an impact

Yeah. In a 35 mph accident, you are creating approximately 60 times your normal weight in force on the seat.. I don't think self tappers are going to hold my 14,000 lb ***.. And might be a source for rust eventually, too.

This is not an area to half-***.

i put 89 crx si seats in my 90 dx hatch;i adjusted the seat back and forth untill i realized that two of the bolts go right in,then i bent one of the rail ends down and drilled it out a little and it fit, the last one i had to do some cutting and welding to get it to fit,it wasnt to bad and they fit good.

yeah, that sounds about right.

I got a couple bolts to line up ok, I used a carbide burr to make a couple of the holes a little larger, and had to weld one or two on each side..

FWIW, I put 91 Teg XSi seats into my 90 HF. Did not even come close, well, possibly 2 bolts! Required custom bracket modifications involving welding, machining and other mechanical work including cussin'. I have answered these threads before and my answer is the only seat that will 100% bolt in is the one that is in it.
