HI, i suck.
what nitrous system should i get for my 96 prelude s
f22
i was thinkin universal zex or nos cause they dont really make **** for my asscrap f22 and i dont have $2000 plus laying around at the moment for a h22
i think i can get one for under $500 and i might need retard ignition?

First, do your research on nitrous.
I'd personally get a Zex kit.
And not necessarily retard your ignition, but definitely get cooler plugs.
And another pointer -- for the Title of the thread, don't name it "HI, i suck."
Put a brief TITLE of what you're posting about. Not what you suck at.

I had the Zex dry kit in my H23a.I used the 75 shot with no problems, but I also ran cooler plugs,if you need the part number let me know. The only thing is that although the Zex kit is the "safest" one on the market, I'd probably get either the NXpress or the new NOS "NOSsle"system.Wet systems are definetely more potent than dry.Zex just came out with a wet system this year, that might be worth looking into.
You might want to look into a purge kit (I had one, recommend it),a bottle mounted pressure gauge and a bottle heater(sold the kit before I had chance to buy one).If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

are you guys just saying that so i'll wreck my engine? i figured 75 shot would probly send pistons through my hood and i would die in fires.
also im not really trying to sell my car, i know know one on this site would want it cause you know better - i have the slow prelude

im kinda low-budget, are wet nitrous kits alot more $ ? jcwhittney sells zex universal system for $519 and it seems like theres alot less to installing it than other systems. wet nitrous mixes fuel in right? how does it get the fuel to mix? not in the bottle im guessing...

ya wet systems add fuel through their own feed off the pump. F22 is low compression which means you can do a bigger shot, 75 would be a [cinch].

Like I said i had my Zex kit running a 75shot for 3 YEARS.NO PROBLEMS!!!Read up on the Zex kit so you're educated when you go to purchase a kit, that's what i did and that's why I chose Zex.After having the Zex I felt limited plus I had nitrous experience under my belt, so this time around I would chose a "wet" system.I would lean towards the NXpress or NOS "NOSsle"system because they allow for more power.I ran 14.5 with Zex,with NXpress or NOS I probably would have run 14 flat with their 75 shot.If you are totally unsure go with Zex you won't regret it and I haven't heard any horror stories with it.Hope this helps.
P.S.You'll feel a difference when your bottle is about 1/2 full,it tends to loose some of it's punch. That's why I recommend getting a bottle heater.A nitrous pressure gauge on the bottle helps you in 2 ways the first being that you don't have to guess when to fill it and the second is so you don't get ripped off at a refill station, trust me it happens.

I was thinking of doing the same thing with my F22..... nitrous with I/E/H but EVERYONE on this site said to save $$$ and get an h22. is a 75 shot really that "safe" with an F22???

Theres not a whole lot different about the H22 and F22, the main differences are the vtec (higher lift/duration), higher compression, and a higher redline. Theres no reason why you cant do all three of these to the F22 and make it even stronger.
But to the answer your question....because its allready low compression its much safer to run a 75 shot on the F22 than the H23 and even more so than the H22. Its the same reason why people who turbo their cars use a compression equal to the F22s.

im scared cause i did a carfax and found out my car had a reported 157k miles on it like a year ago and the odometer has 106k on it.... still think it can take 75?

Before you purchase a single component do a compression check and leakdown test to be sure that the engine is in a healthy condition.

Think about it this way also. The money you would spend on purchasing an H22, you could put towards stronger parts for the F, rods, pistons, sleeving, a cam, ect. Then you can spray a 150shot all day long with no worries whatsoever, with proper tuning of course.
Over time i'm starting to become a little fond of the single cams.

thats a good idea, make my engine so it can take more. wheres a good place to buy those parts for a f22? also, whats involved in a leakdown test and how much would a garage charge to do a leakdown and compression test? estimate?

As for cost i'm not really sure, always have had one. Anyone else?
I know the ones from Autozone aren't too pricy.
