Shotpeened LS rods would be your best bet

what about the PR3 pistons?? do they work well with the b18b1 motor?? how much compression does it bump up? do i need to do any modifications to the pistons?

you would get about a 10.8:1 cr with b16a pistons and about 11.4:1 cr with b16b pistons

Have your machine shop shotpeen your rods. And, I'm sure you probably know this, but if you are planning on going turbo as it states in your sig, I would suggest against using PCT slugs.

Which other rods will work with the B16B Piston if it is going in a B18C bottom?
PS. I wish people could just keep quiet, if they don't know the answers. I and many other people are trying to learn and get correct infos on our build up. Allmtr son

I would probably go with ITR rods in that instance

this is also not true. in a b18a or b18b which is the same bore and stroke. pr3 pistons will net you about 11-3-1 compresion.
p30 pistons are about 11-5-1
and b16b(CTR) will put you over 12-1 compression in your LS block.
usdm ITR pistons will set you around 11-1.

try to use the same LS rods that are on the crank your using. make sure to have everything ballanced.
and most of all use ARP rod bolts. 8mm size not the 9mm.

shot peeing is kind of like seeing a black cat walk in front of you. some people beleive in it,some dont. shot peeing only strengthens the rod 5% and its only on the outside, not completly. if you need to get crazy ,go for CRYO treating or buy new rods.

hope that helps you guys more.

If it's going in an LS you must you LS spec'd rods. Don't waste money on shotpeening. Instead just buy ARP rods bolts. CTR pistons will work fine with I think .192" shaved off each side. Taht number sticks out in my mind. Rocket correct me if i'm wrong.

And even this is not true. This would be close if you were using an VTEC head. Remember this is a pure LS motor. The combustion chamber volume on the Non VTEC heads is 45cc unlinke 42.70 PR3 and 41.60 P72

USDM B16's about 10.8:1, JDM B16's about 11:1, CTR about 11.4:1.

Again this is stock 81.00mm bore, stock headgasket, stock valves etc... Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
