Actually i think the "older" lol models look better.......Actually I just like the way the older ones have a more aggressive squared-off type of front like mugen, rather than this front that looks more like Bomex

I like the old style, but I also like the new engine better.

That is beautiful. So sexy. Still don't really like the tachometer layout, but only for aesthetic reasons. I'd rock it.

 

the whole car looks nice except the red/black interior (imo), but that's cause i like single color interior, and the new wheels are nice too.

 

I love how stock civic Sis have higher redlines then 2004 s200s, and how honda couldnt squeeze any more horsepower out of the extra .2 litres, or how the springs are softer. Basically, its a change for the worse. Even the rims suck!

Then get a Civic SI. Do you know the exact redline of the new S2K?

Honda often underrates HP. Everyone knows this. Wait until you see dyno results.

Lower redline = Doesn't necessarily mean slower car.

Softer springs = Who said this? The suspension is supposed to be "softer" yes. But it is not confirmed. Even if it was, who says it's the spring?

Maybe the new S2000 revs so fast that the rev counter needs to be the half! (Joking) Why this is the 2004 S2000?? Ain't the S2200?

-Advantages:
-nice rims,
-nice front bumper IMO,
-better tachometer,
-better tunnel
-NEW engine
-250+ hp engine
-more torque @ low revs,
-17" wheels (ideal for bigger brakes)

Dis-ADVAN-tages:
-soft springs
-rear lights
-2.2L, that means more taxes,
-2L=240hp, 2.2L why not 280hp? only 10hp gained by 200cc?

I wanna see some engine shots!!!!

Thanks, but ill stick with my 02 s2000. And if you have been following the leaks in honda press about the 2200, youd be more informed about the fact that it will have softer springs, and only 163 ft/lbs as opposed to 153 despite and identical 240hp. Shitty numbers for .2 more litres. Its still and S, and since i own one i cant hate, but if honda was going to ruin the reviness of the car they could at least offer IOP (Imola orange pearl) and Montecarlo blue.

I have been following them. HOWEVER, press "leaks" are just rumors until the real thing comes out. How many press releases are actually true?

 

Well, from my time on s2ki.com (used to be a mod there) i have heard from honda employees who dont gossip, they often crush rumors that arent true (like 3.0v6 s2000s), but when they come out with the facts, i hold that as the closest thing to true. Consquently, this info was a 1 page special in motor trend under production cars.

 

Nextek, I appreciate your feedback but MT is one of the worst publications when talking about rumors.

My point, we won't know the true facts, until Honda publishes them.

 

I want those seats and those wheels for my 00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Thanks for posting those pics, I think the car looks just as good if not a little better.... But I still love my 01 S2000.....

Maybe I can pick up those rims off new owners who want to rock Mugens or Volks...

exactly what I was thinking.

 

I really like the rims. Reminds me of the mirror finish 17" mf10. Too bad Mugen didnt make an offset for the s2000. Maybe this is a good enough replacement

 

I like it...I want do drive one though...see how it compares to my "old" haha S2K. BTW nextechatch your 02 has a softer suspension than the 00 and 01 models for a little FYI, so how much can the softer suspension hurt the performance? It may be very minimal.

 

I wasnt using motor trend as my source, just stating that even the idiots that publish that magizine know what you find so hard to believe. Hit s2ki.com and find the FACTS out for yourself, or just wait till it comes out and ill hold off telling " i told you so"

 

I can see the races that are going to take place between the new 04 owners and the 1st gen owners...this should get interesting. Who will have bragging rights? opinions?

 

the heavier rims and motor will most likely offset the 10ft/lbs of torque that will differeniate the cars. Personally, I think the 1st gens will be faster because they can rev higher and stay in gear longer (shifting takes time) Perhaps the only thing i do like about the 04's is lower CR most likely so more juice handling capability.

 

Sorry guys I'm with Nextek on this one. I don't think I like anything new about it except for the lower compression as he stated...

 

The '04 model has bigger front brakes? Also an engine shot yould be great. I've visited many japanese official sites but noone contains pictures. I'm looking forward to watch the Top Gear review, by Tiff!
