I can go to the dealer and buy a BRAND NEW 03 for ~ $30,000 before tax and licensing.

I'm sorry, but you are asking way too much, try about 20 to 25k....

 

I agree. It isn't a question of disrespect, you just didn't do your homework for what your vehicle might be worth. I helped another owner here in austin pick up a used '02 with 4k miles on it for under $25k, and this was last april/may.

The other guys are right, you can get a new '03 right now for $31k.

One could argue that you offered just as much disrespect by trying to price gouge a group of knowledgable enthusiasts. I'm not claiming one way or the other, but before you cry disrespect, think about both sides of the coin.

Good luck selling your car. I think you'll find that you have a little trouble getting your asking price. If you're firm on that price, you might have more luck with the local paper where a buyer might not be as knowledgable about the product and the current pricing.
