Default What kind of tires should i get for 225/40/18?

My friend is getting some tires, but we don't know which brand to get. Basically we need some tires that last long, with some performance. What brand should he get for 225/40/18? Thanks

18's? on a honda?

nothing will last long with a profile that low.

tell your friend to sell his bling and get smaller wheels if he wants anything over 15,000 miles of tread life.

it's going on a honda accord v6, so that's the right size. he's getting volk gtcs. anything smaller then 18, will look to small.

don't flame on the thread if you can't give advice.

a 225/40 tire will NOT give much treadlife. if your friend wants a big 18" wheel he is gonna have to sacrifice the 40,000 miles of tire life down to half of that, or worse depending on his driving habbits.

and when did i flame, i said 18's are too big and i stand by that, even on an accord.

I've been using Nitto 555s on my Prelude... they last around 25,000 miles before they need replacing, so the other guy had a good point in that you'll be replacing tires twice as often, but 18s look sweet on Accords and Preludes.
