Shed some light :D 94 ex coup
Guys I have a 94 ex coup.......and the time has finally come for my swap after considering going FI with my D16.
Ive only wanted to go H22, since ive seen what they can do and also my coup with the ex trim is heavy so the added torq of the H22 seemed like a good idea.
Now the problem is ive found a good GSR for sale with 120k on it for a good price not to mention its a much easier installation.
I know it wont be as fast as the H22 stock.........but will I be disapointed with the gsr? I know its hard to say what I could be running but if anyone could "shed some light" I would totally appreciate it since ive got to make my decision soon so i can get the engine in my car before it gets too cold to work on it thx

120,000 miles is a lot of miles, regardless if it's a honda motor or not. I can tell you that you won't be disappointed with the GSR motor, but the H22 wouldn't be a bad option as well. I say you get which ever motor you can afford. Keep in mind there are hidden costs with H22 swaps, like mount kits and random **** like that. I have seen H22 powered civics run as low as 13.4 on street tires with i/h/e and 12.9 on slicks with i/h/e and run as high as 15.3 on street tires. It all depends on how heavy your car is, how good a driver you are, and what your suspension/tire setup is. Also, you could do a search either in this forum or the Hybrid forum and have this question answered as well....the search button is your friend
I dont think youll be dissapointed with the GSR swap at all. Try riding in a car with these two swaps and see how you like both!
Edit: Agreed, 120k is a lot of miles for a swap!
