Default b16a head on b18c5 block

Hi guys, my mate has blown his piston on his c5 and basically selling parts of it. He wants to sell the short block of the c5 to me. I have an ek civic hatch with the b16a. I was wondering if the pistons etc from the head of the b16a will fit on the c5 block? If so will this increase my displacement to about 1.8 litres?

thanks for any help guys

you will then have a 1.8 but did you say that he blew the pistons? if the pistons are blown then your going to have to replace them, also there could be other damage if he blew a piston. check it out before you buy it, for all you know he could have a hole in the block

Pistons from the head? Well if you get his blown block you will have to rebuild it and then ditch you B16 block. The crank is what will increase the displacement. The pistons are the same bore.

yes the pistons will only increase the C/R if they are the same bore size.

and i'm not sure what was meant by 'pistons in the head'.

also on a side note, the B16A head is nearly the same as the B18C5 head cept for the mild port work and different valvesprings/cams etc. so that will bolt right onto the C5 block.
