Default MSD blaster 2 coil setup

Sorry for the NooB question, but I have never played with MSD stuff before.

Looking at buying a MSD Blaster2 external coil. Can this be hooked up without the rest of the MSD ignition setup? and if so would it be worth while...

I'm running a DOHC ZC in my EF

thanks

Yes it will all work with each other. I just installed the 6A box and blaster 2 coil on my motor and noticed no difference. Maybe a dyno would see it but i couldnt. I only installed it cuz i had it left over from an old motor.

I already had a new OEM cap so i just got that "power tower" or "power tip" or whatever the hell MSD calls it and redrilled the cap. On my old motor i used their cap...damn thing was expensive. Redrilling works just as good.

I used the power tip thing, it's pretty crappy and i'd go with a whole new cap if I did it again.
I wrote this up for my teg, should be much the same for you: http://www.integraxsi.orcon.net.nz/msd

honestly the blaster coil isn't going to do much for you unless you have a high HP engine that requires a strong spark to get things rolling...other than that you probably wont experience any difference..i set one up on my b18c swap and didn't notice a damn thing...not even improved gas mileage so?
