not a honda, but help would be great
Ok, I have a 2003 Galant V6 - has 210W Infinity Sound System stock.
Wanted more bass, so I purchased 12" MTX sub with 800W Kenwood AMp from Circuit City, had them install it. Used stock deck for time being, and it sucked so I upgraded to their recommendation, an Alpine deck.
No question, the bass is much better.
However, the stock speakers, when I shut the sub off, sound like crap. They said I couldn't use my existing 210W infinity amp with the alpine deck. Didn;t think that this made sense but went with it, and now im regretting it.
I dropped nearly $600 on this system and it sounds like a tin can, even with the sub on. I cant get the deep sound I got with the stock system now with the alpine deck, since the infinity amp is no longer connected.
My question is, is there anyway I can hook the infinity ampo back up so I can have the same great sound I had before, and have the great bass im getting from the sub, all of this WITh the alpine deck???
This may seem confusing, but if any of you late nighters have AIM, im ezekiel198 on there or just reply here. im at work til 7am.

Sounds like you have a premium sound system in that car. Never do that again
Get a small amp, like a 50x4 to run the door speakers. Run new wire into the doors to prevent destroying the stock system(might help resale, maybe). Replace the stock speakers with something a little better like a set of infinity reference or kappas, in the stock size. Lastly your stock sub is probably infinite baffle, meaning it uses your trunk for space. IB subs can go very low, but may not get very loud. If you want more bass get a ported box for your sub.
BTW, $600 is just the beginning
