Default GSR crank/LS block

I searched and didn't find anything , would it be worth it or should I just stick with my b16 . It's just parts I have laying around ... thanks

I'll still have more torque over the 16 right ? I puttin 170 to the wheels now. I'm puttin ctr pistons in with my skunk2s2 cams hopefully I can get 180to the wheels with some more torque .

Yea the ls crank would produce a little more but the gsr crank will still do you alot of good.

i dont reccomentd ctr pistons on pump gas, comp will be too high. us itr's are great for pump gas, around 11.5 to 1 with a .020 mill/b16a head. i can't wait for all you guys to tell me how wrong i am, and how much better "CTR" pistons are....lol.......

the added 37cc's that the ls stroke will provide isn't worth it in my opinion. With the GSR atleast you have the girdle already.

The gsr crank in the ls basically makes the block the same geometry as the gsr. You can definitely rev the crank higher than the ls. I thought I saw a thread that some guy put a gsr crank in a b20 and put 213 to the ground, and had a b16 head on it.

by putting a gsr crank in a ls block, wont you need custom length rods?or would the gsr rods work?

GSR rods, pistons, and crank.....the deck height is the same as LS.

I'm currently running gsr crank and rods with ctr pistons in my ls motor. It has noticibly more torque than what I previous had with the ls crank and pr3 pistons. Will slap on a gsr head soon, and will see how that goes.

They are talking about B18 setups so your deck height, rods, and crank are different. Your c/r should be under 12.1 if you run ctr pistons in a B16a even with a mugen headgasket.

i did understand what was being talked about.

a b18a/b block, gsr crank w/ctr pistons ruff compression ratio is around 11-4-1 from a stock number of 10-0-1(if you say it is a gsr block w/o the oil squirters and the extra cooling for the oil and block),a japan b16a1 w/ ctr piston compression is alittle over 11-7-1,compared to the stock 10-4-1 compression,my point was there is no problems in running the ctr pistons,in any n/a application with pump gas,93-94 octane...the installer must have screwed up on his own project for him to have a negative opion on them,i have built my engine and a gsr w/ the same ctr pistons we are talking about and ,i have had no complaints from the owner,he loves it
the moral is"to each is own"
