Default Civic Type R questions

I'm trying to find a Civic Type R head for a friend who needs it for his 99-00 Civic Si. The head has 140k on it and is shot... He got some prices on rebuilding it but I wanted to see if I could locate a head for it. And if anyone has done this swap, it is a direct fit right? Do you need to change the injectors, the fuel rail, the ECU or anything ? Any mods to head or problems? TIA

in terms of being a direct fit the CTR directly fits but it is not the smae thing... the CTR has different setup and is slightly more ported... so any ideas on where to locate one?

Aside from the cams and valve train (which could easily be installed in a B16A head) and the slight "cleaning-up" it receives at the factory, there really aren't any differences to speak of between the two.

EDIT: Back to the original question - why not just use an ITR head?

i thought ITR does not exactly match up... something like there's a missing water port? if you do recommend the ITR matchup who has done it? any probs? mods required? place where to get one?

ITR/CTR/B16A all use the same basic head.

Missing water port? Just find a cheap B16 head and put the valvetrain in. Don't beat your brains tyring to find a ITR head let alone a CTR head.

Basically all of the heads are the same the Type R and CTR have some what of a Factory port and they run Different Intake Valves than the SI heads.
