What Would Make Vtec NOT kick in??? 99 Si HELP!!!!

Default What Would Make Vtec NOT kick in??? 99 Si HELP!!!!

I have a 99 si, everything seems to work great and the car runs fine but the only problem is vtec doesnt kick in.. Anyone have any idea why it wouldnt kick in like its suppose to???

Do you have a cel? Sometimes it makes u go into limp mode and vtec will not kick in

Odds are your oil level is real low and you're not getting sufficient oil pressure to make the VTEC solenoid do its ****.

I have no CEL's, the car is upto temp. and the oil level looks good... Any other suggestions??

Water temp could be causing it too. Make sure your engine is warmed up all the way.

I let the car run for an hour before I tried it and it didnt kick in....

It will go all the way upto 8 grand with no vtec

My thoughts too. If oil level is fine, and operating temp is fine, then maybe your VTEC solenoid took a crap on you..

I bought it from an auction missing the motor.. I got the block from my friend and got the head and tranny from a shop.. Everything was slapped together but no vtec. Trust its not that Im used to it.

check the selonoid (sp) is everything connected? also bring i back to damn shop. and btw vtec was quiet when i was stock slap an intake on and see if you can hear it
