Default Car went wack, need help quick!

Ok heres what happened. I went to the car wash, then filled up the tank, then got on the highway. Well I got going for about 10 miles and all of a sudden I hear put put boom! Look up and see a puff of black smoke come out my tail pipe. Well I try giving it gas with no response so I take it out of gear and coast to the side of the raod. I tried to restart it and all it did is like put put pop, put put pop. Well I called my dad and he comes and I try it again. Well I get it started and it was running rough as crap. When I floor it it just revs to like 1-1.5k and back fires like crazy. We think it is either the fuel pump or jumped timing, what do you guys think?

So did you go through the car wash?? Maybe your distr got wet? If it did and you could actually get it running again it wouldnt rev very much at all and when it was revving it would sputter like a bitch. I have had the same problem when I took my car through the car wash as well.
