To prep the engine bay for paint, everything bolted down was taken off. then took off the fenders and windshield cowl so it would be easier to mask. i took out the subframe so it would be easier to spray. i cleaned everything with simple green then sanded with 400 grit. masked off everything i didn't want overspray on then put plastic over the rest of the car. then i cleaned the what was going to be painted with prep solve to remove any oils or contaminates so the paint would stick better. it was sprayed with ppg deltron automotive paint. the color is lexus graphite grey pearl. two coats of base and three coats of clear. it ended up coming out pretty good. I swapped in a gsr brake booster and m/c, subframe brace while i was at it too.

my new engine is a jdm b16



i purchased it from a local shop. after i put it in and had it ready to go it wouldn't start. checked everything and didn't come up with anything. did a compression test on it and it was 30-35psi across!! the shop wont give me my money back because they claim to have a 5 day return policy which they never told me about previously. due to a pending legal battle i cannot post the shop name.

i'll fix the extreamly large pics in a minute
