this may sound like a dumb question, but whats the red hose that connects the valve cover to the intake(right above the oil cap)? I have the same intake but don't have that hose.
just about every intake on the market has a nipple (some even come with the hose) to hook up to the valve cover. its the same place you would hook up a stock intake hose too. (i forgot the name)

that's not the PVC line. That's the vent for the valve cover.
the PCV is on the back of the block, on top of the oil expansion chamber.
and fords suck, wait...did you mean the pontiac blue block though? either way...i ownz them. Cept for a 73 Camero with a Zl1

Hey dip, what do you think that line "vent" is for? To release combustion pressure in the crankcase. The intake creates a vacuum releasing the pressure, and bringing it into the intake stream.
Oh yeah, I never said it was a "pvc", read the post.

um, dude...you said that it was the pcv....i just reread it 4 times to make sure how bad you were contradicting yourself.
good stuff.
and it;s not connected to the crankcase, the crankcase is the bottom of the block...get this, where the crank is!! Crazy, i know.

Maybe you should reread it again. The correct way to spell it is PCV as in the term "positive crankcase ventilation" You typed it wrong as in "pvc" maybe you were talking about routing some plastic pipe (pvc) on your car. Actually crankcase ventilation is present in that part of the engine through oil passages, get this how do you think that the oil gets to the oil pan when you put oil into the hole in the valvecover? Maybe you should readup some more on the internet before trying to out smart someone.
Ever seen breathers on a v-8 drag car? They are in the valvecovers, some people will even route a rubber line (usually heater hose) from their headers to the valvecover to rid the engine of crankcase pressure. The headers have a small pipe welded into them at the collector at an angle to create a vacuum and suck the pressure out of the engine.

I kind of dig the mismatch coloring of the motor and components... as long as it works
