My motor has about 70k miles on it now and I was wondering how much gas mileage you guys get? I know my motor needs a tuneup I can smell my belt being gay and the clicking sound but I'm jsut gonna drag it like this and in winter I'm redoing everything but is the drastic drop in gas mileage cause of the need of tuneup? I get like just over 20 mpg now and I should be getting what closer to 30?

 

I have the J1, close ratio, and I get like 35 on the highway, and 25 around town. Ryan

 

my friend gets about 34-36 on the highway, around 25 in town as Ryan said as well.

used to get about 30 on the hwy and 15 in town with boost.

 

yeah i get really bad gas mileage. its werid though it only happens when im around 5grand or so or more... its werid like that. haha.

actually i can get like 250-300 miles to a tank. depends on how i drive.

 

Wow at the rate I'm going I'll end up just under 250.. Anyway another question.. Does your gas meter drop a lot after you turn on the car? Like if I do a lot of driving [deliveries, etc] and leave the car off overnight and turn it back on the gas bar drops like crazy.. What the hell is that?

It's common, all hondas do it. The gauge has some type of memory hooked up to it. But it isn't that accurate. When you start the the car after it's been sitting awhile and the fuel has stopped sloshing around, it resets itself at the new level. Hence it appears that the the fuel level dropped over night. LOL

 

200 miles to the tank. advanced timing. running rich.

Maybe i dont have a hole in my gas tank!!! I seemed to think that anything over half a tank was leaking somehow. I will have to try and look into this more.

 

I get around 27 mpg or around 275 miles on a full tank.


I could probably get better mileage, but I get on it a lot.

 

B16A1, S1 gearbox, NA.

9mpg - race (vtec@4800rpm)
20mpg - city (vtec@4600rpm, lower for better response)
40mpg - highway (vtec@7500rpm and adjust my fuel maps accordingly)

 

32 mpg fwy/ 24 town usdm s1 (ls tranny)

 

i get about 24 and im half and half (city and highway) vtec EATS gas

 

i get about 15 around town, w/ y1 lsd

 

Dang guys, I got 32 in the city and 39 on the highway with my B16A1 w/ Y1

 

22 mpg city AND highway...dunno why they're the same...could be my messed up o2 sensor...lol, and this is with the xsi tranny

 

I had my o2 sensors switched, and I got real bad mileage. I routinely get between 250-300 miles between fill ups, that seems to be the average. Oh yeah, but it's a stock D16A6. lol

 

b16 ys1 tranny lsd 275-300 to the tank

Lay off the vtec ......

Last time i checked i was getting about 30 vtec and 29 highway, dont know why the highway was lower, maybe because i am at 4.5krpm+

does your vtec still work in that log... lol j/k

 

I get 32mpg with a chipped ecu always in open loop. B16 J1 trans.

 

29mpg on average at the end of a full tank... when the car runs right.
