Default JDM type R block code question

I wasn't completely sure on this issue..but isn't the JDM Type R block code B18C...which is also the same as the JDM GSR? I've also seen the code b18CR as well...can someone help distinguish the motors with their codes?

JDM Type R and GSR are both B18C the only way to distguish the two is by the head, tranny, intake, and exhaust.

never seen a block that said b18cr. might be a custom job. I don't believe any honda motors came that way.

No such motor came with the stamp b18cr - that is just slang.

i agree with B2.. i've never seen a block with a "B18CR" on it.

when people on honda-tech or anywhere else say "B18CR".. they are just refering to the JDM ITR motor since a simple "B18C" is not as specific.

Exactly. B18C-R is just a way to verbally distinguish between the ITR and SiVtec/SiR-G.

Pistons and crank can tell you what motor it is if you just have the block. But require a little effort.
