Default OEM oil filter part number??

I had a small stash of ITR/civic/everything else oil filters, and I went to change my oil today, and the filter seems to not fit very well. Anyone know the part number? Ive got a "S22701" printed on this filter and I thought it was the same as the others Ive used before. But when I tightened it, it appears there is metal on metal contact near the inside edge of the seal. It would hand tighten freely, but then reach a point where it suddenly stopped and couldnt tighten any further. I couldnt do the "hand tighten, and then 1/4 turn with the wrench" method. So I just put the old filter back on for now. :shrugs:

i picked an oil filter up for my type R friday the part number on the tag is 15400-PLM-A01. the filter was a little small than the ones i usually got and the guy in the parts department told me that they stopped making the bigger filters and are useing these new smaller filters now.the only other number printed on the fitler is 3H09, this filter is the same height as the other ones just not as round. but now that i think about this, i guess if you had some old filters stached this part number wont help you.

you guys know 15400-PLM-A02 is the filters made in canada by FRAM.
15400-PLM-A01 are the made in the usa by filtech i think.

what do you guys usually pay for these filters. around here 1 is like 6.50+ but if you by 3 or more they let them go at 4.30+ each. if i have to use the blue ones i make sure i get the us made ones.

Yeah I noticed the ao2 was fram also. But when i compared it with a regular fram filter it looked like better quality. Maybe fram makes it to honda's specifications? All I saw was that the honda fram filter looked like it had alot more holes inside for better flow compared to the regular fram filter.

15400-P0H-305 is the oil filter we've all known and loved for a long time.

Honda has since reinvented their oil filters to be smaller, and cheaper, costing less to manufacture, but apparently filtering the same. I personally think the new filters just look shitty, and will continue to use HAMPs until I run out. To the best of my knowledge, the HAMP is the same as a Japanese P0H filter.

I thought P0H was the US or CAN filter, because my PR3 filter says Japan and Toyo Roki on the filter itself

I know this is an old post, but I figured i'd just add to it rather than make a new one.......

I go to the Honda dealership today to pick up my wife, whose Prelude is getting serviced today. To make a long story short, I go to the parts counter to purchase a couple oil filters for the R. I wanted to buy 2 but the guy said if I bought 3, I would get a $1.50 discount on each. So of course I jump on it. So the guy grabs 3 filters and washers and puts them in a bag and tells me the price is......$22.03!!

I asked if it was right and he says, yes. I look at the receipt and they were $8.10 each before the $1.50 discount plust 30 cents each for the washers. What a rip, at least I think so anyway. I can't imagine what the Acura dealership would charge nowadays. BTW the filters I got were 15400-PLM-A02 - #s33301 on the side and says Honeywell. He says this is the new part number and style for the filters.

Why did the old filters have 6 or 8 holes on the top and this one has 10?

And aren't filters supposed to be like 6 bucks each before any discounts?

Maybe it's just me. At least they covered the sensor and diagnostic test under warranty for the Prelude.

Hate to bring this post back but I felt like I needed too. I was doing a search on the filters that you R owners used and I thought this could be a bit of assitance for those who are confused on the new FRAM Filter vs the Filtech Filter .

If you've seen this, oh well :

It's just an oil filter to me. I use whatever's available and most convenient for me. Just like how I fill up my gas. Some people use certain gas stations and drive out of their way to fill up a certain gas. I've haven't noticed any performance increase or decrease using the different filters. I have better things in my life to worry about than which oil filter/oil/tranny fluid/air in my tires/gas to use.

Len, Oil filters, I can agree with you on that. However some seem to have more filter material or whatever so that may help to some slight degree. Oils and tranny fluid though, I have to disagree. I have seen BIG DIFFERENCES from using different oils and tranny fluids y0. Just my 2 cents, and Im sticking with the FRAM filters for now. I change my oil so often anyway.

I've got a Hamp H1540-PFB-004 in my hand and Heck it looks smaller than Both the old and new Honda filters.

I personally went to Purolator P1's.

I also run funky oil.

Dare to be different.

The oil filter now used is a 15400-plm-a02.......which has the number s33422 on the side of it..it used to be a 15400-p0h-305.....which is made by filtech and says 3b26 on the side of it.
