Are Yokohoma A032Rs Good For The Street?
My street wheel/tire package won't be here in time, and I have a full track day next week, so I was thinking of bolting the A032s on the stock rims and actually drive to the track, and keep driving them until I get the street combo. Do these tires do fine for regular driving? And how do they perform in the wet?
i've had mine on for the whole summer, rain or shine. they feel great on the street. last weeks auto-x was a rainy one, and they performed great!

Cool, that's great then. I should get a street package soon, so the A032s will be track onlies at that time. Yes, SIR, I am planning on going August 27th, that's next Monday. Are you going tomorrow?
i have some pics of them on Regamaster's if you'd like to see.

Can you drive them on the street? Yes - unlike most track tires. However, they do have certain disadvantages: noise (they hum big-time), rapid wear (figure 4-5K miles per set), and wet traction (better than other track tires, but worse than street tires).
I drive the A032R on the track, and the RE010 on the street (and winter tires in the winter). Specific tires for specific purposes.
However, if I were in your situation - and my street tires hadn't come in yet - sure, I'd drive the A032R on the street, without any hesitation.

Road noise is quite pronounced, but to me, it's worth it. Dry weather traction is amazing with the tire, (hence the short tread life), and wet traction is fine, considering this is a competition tire. Once you use them, you won't want to go back to any other tire for street driving.
call me a lier, but i have gotten 2 track days, 3 autocrosses, and over 12,000 daily driven miles out of my a032r's with plenty of tread left.. however, the more they are driven on streets, the more the compound hardens.. now they are hard as rocks, and i almost feel as if better traction could be gotten from a regular high performace street tire..

I haven't tried the S0-3s, but the Yoko 032Rs are addictive, no reason you cant make em last a whole summer (unless you drive them ALL the time AND do a few track events).
