Spray painting some pieces on my car
I am ordering paint from paintscatch.com.
Its milano red tricolor
I need to paint a new front bulkhead (radiator support) and a lip that is currently another color.
1. I think I might be able to do both with one 12.5 once can, what do you think?
2. Is the radiator support the same color as the outside of the car except with out clear coat?
3. Should I primer the radiator support? (it came in a flat black color).
4. Is one application of primer, then base, then mid, then clear coat enough or should I do more than one base (or other coat).
edit: Is there a less expensive place to get an exact match of tricolor?

1. i dont know ounces but 1 normal rattle can will do both
2. yes but if the paint comes out really flat one coat of clear to blend it into the rest of the engine bay will be good
3. im guessing its the flat black that comes on the ones you buy new, if so then just matte it down with a scotch pad and then wash it with soapy water, this will be good
4. do what ever you need to blend

dont wash it with soapy water just go over it with a wet towel and then make sure its a clean surface for the paint to stick on
and the engine bay on most civics isnt the exact same color on everycar such as a silver hatch for example
if you look closely its kinda like a gray primer color and not the same at the outside and no id doesnt have a clearcoat on it (my car)
good luck

1) dont know about milano red, some color need a thiner coat to get the exact color, just get two cans if you want to paint both items.
2)unless you going for a show car..
3)always clean,sand,prime before paint
4)it depends, number of thin coats always better than one thick coat.
and about the cleaning part..unless it's greasy or oil, just wash it down with water, dry it with camois(sp?) and use little bit of alcohol to get rid of the oil from finger print. you dont have to but i would, take your time and it will come out good.
