Cleaning EGR port
Hey everyone... I just went to get my 4th gen prelude smogged today and I failed the Nox section. I previously read a Accord tutorial about cleaning the EGR port that is probably clogged due to carbon buildup. But the engine setup is quite different in an Accord. Can anyone help me out telling me how to take the plug off (if any) and cleaning the port? I cant seems to locate where to it. Thanks for the help.
If you look at your engine from the front, it's located on the left hand side towards the IM. You will see a small vacuum line running out and towards the right hands side of the car.
You may want to clean your TB as that tends to get dirty and cause problems when passing smog.

i know this is a long time since someone posted, but you might be trying to find answers. my check engine went on the other day, and it had the EGR sensor too. i took it to honda for them to clean it, but they had no time, and charged me the damn 78 dollars for checking the "light". then, he said it'll cost 195 for the cleaning. and to answer ur question, the tech did say you had to drill a hole.
The helmic manual has a section with step by step instructions of how to do this. If you want to do work on your car I would recomend getting one of these, they are great and worth every peny.
