I am gonna go get my exhaust done at a muffler shop. I am gonna get a header, hi flow cat too before i get the exhuast done. I want to get 2 1/4 inch madrel bent from the hi flow cat back with my fake 5zigen muffler. I want to use a resonator to quiet it down a little. But will I lose power with one.

are these any good for resonators, i will order one with 2 1/4 inlets and outlets

They are a cheap and effective way of resonating or muffling the sound but these tend not to last as long as say a magnaflow resonator.

 

i couldn't find a resonator on magnaflow.com

i heard you can use a straight muffle for preformance??

I bought a 2 1/4" in/outlet, 22"long magnaflow resonator from him, I believe it was like $65.

 

I think I remeber reading that Cherry Bomb resonators really hurt flow if installed the suggested way, but they flow better the reverse way. I'm not sure of the validity of such claim, though.

I'd also like some opinions on resonators. Any good stainless steel ones?

ya i looked at those also. heard they will make it sound real raspy.
you can just get a magnaflow muffler and use that as a resinator still having another muffler on, but i dont see the point.

if your gonna do your own custom exhaust. then just buy a stainless steel magnaflow oval muffler. they look nice actually and they do not need a resonator. they are very quiet even when running a straight pipe! dont buy a fart can muffler. buy a magnaflow and do it right the first time. id suggest using a cat, because there better for the environment but if u dont want to then dont. u definitly dont need to sound wise.

buy a magnaflow muffler and forget about the hastles of resinators.

i also have a magnaflow w/ a resonator... they are decently quite, has a nice deep tone to it, my bro runs a straight pipe with the same muffler but it sounds like a weedwacker
