Default Brand New Spoon Header-$700...good deal?

hoping to get some opinions on this, but i think i found someone scrapping their project and selling a new spoon header they never got to install. guy is asking 7 bills even, and i know i could easily spend a G on a new one after shipping and all...BUT-

between the 2, i always wanted the Toda header due to its excellent clearance(as claimed by those happy owners who bought one). my R isnt lowered more than an inch, but my driveway is one of those steep ones that will scrape if not taken at an angle

best advice, thanks

true, the spoon header does not have the clearance of the Toda, but it's not much lower...

My R was lowered just over an inch and I never had a problem w/ the spoon header...

that's a good price, I paid about $950 for mine new

You could always buy it and sell it for ~200 more?

believe you me, $700 is a great price. especially since it is brand new. i could have gotten one for $750 new from delsolguy , but he ended up putting it on his car. i found one new for $800 and that was still a good deal. bottom line is...if you feel that you can deal with the clearance issue and also decide between this header and the toda, it would be hard to find another deal like this.

if is that much of an issue then should get the Toda header ...
start looking for deals on that header and forget about the Spoon header ...

Please explain why you would pay $900 dollars for a header? I know it is Spoon and everything, but you could put together a turbo kit for around that, and gain 5 times the power the header would give you.

</TD></TR></TABLE>...thats a good point my friend in terms of dollars spent for horsepower, but some people, myself included, like a naturally breathing engine -although there is nothing wrong with turbo, i'd like to keep her as moderate as possible.

thanks for the opinions...would anyone have recent pics or even old ones of a spoon/toda header taken from below the car? thanks..

Get Toda 4-2-1. Otherwise, you'll regret. That's what I would get if I were to do it all over again.

$700. is a great deal for the spoon 4-2-1 header. Pick it up.

But, if you have any issues with clearance the Spoon can prove to be troublesome, in this case the Toda would be a better bet.

But, it seems you didn't get as good of a deal on the Toda header then did you?

Good luck,

From someone who spent $200. more on his Spoom piece but, has been lucky enough Not to damage it yet.

</TD></TR></TABLE> do you realize that the Mugen header is 999.99

there is a market for it. they make quality parts that blow away dc and other crap manufacturer's

do you want any more reasons?

they have a full racing team that helped to develop these headers so you can be assured that it will hook your car up (with proper tuning of course) with more potential than a crap as greddy, a'pexi or dc

(Try not to take this the wrong way but

Seeing your Spoon posts (yes all of them) and then this little diddy, I can now just begin to guess at why you lost all of those points.

Why argue about this? All of a sudden you are Pro Spoon because you are trying to advertise for them and your job?

If someone wants the Header than good, get it or sell to them.

Many people can't begin to imagine spending that much money or even more on a Hytech or SMSP regardless if they know it will work.

Why get the Spoon header? It works.

Why get a Toda? It also works and has the advantage of better clearance.

Why get a SMS header? It definitely works but, will be out of many peoples price range, even those who could afford the Spoon/Toda pieces.

Argument for and against the Header (or expensive headers and parts in general) is silly at best, especially on this post when the topic was "is $700. a good deal for a Spoon header?"

To which the answer is simply YES.

Bravo and well said 1GreyTeg.

I myself cannot afford the price on any of these pieces. Hell, I'm just happy to have the car out in the garage in all her stock goodness.

well if you worded it the right way maybe i would have taken it the right way but i'm not able to with that much sarcasm. Did i say there was anything wrong with toda, sms smsp or hy-tech? did i say the spoon header was the best- NO
just because we are a spoon ditributor doesn't mean i am biased. we also sell just about everything else you would want and then some.

Simply put if you can afford the 700 then yes its a great price for that header and gains would be comparable to all the other manufacturer's mentioned above. I personally have a comptech. Do i want a spoon header- NO it doesn't suit my car not the plan i have for it.

So next time you say don't take this the wrong way. just shove your foot in your mouth and lay it out without laying out the mr innocent comment. as far as a loss of points, do you think i really care. its a friggin public forum. ratings are ridiulously stupid and i've seen worse violations on this board. god forbid i haven't used this board for almost a year and i forget to check the rules and regulations page. as if it mattered a while back.

In addition, the hidden cost: tuning. But let's not get OT.

Regarding the turbo-It was just an example, its just that it works out roughly $90 per HP.

Nice price for the Header.

I don't sell Spoon and I can say that it is an excellent product. Top quality made and the only thing I can think of to say negative is the slight clearance issue if you have your car dropped too much.
