Default 93 Accord Memory Problems

Hey guys..this is for a friend, but his 93 Accord has had memory problems for as long as I can remember. It won't keep time on his clock and it wont keep any presets in his radio. Ive checked the backup fuse (which I figured would be the problem) but it is fine. What else could be causing this???

Well, Ive checked the backup fuse under the hood and that is not the problem. Somebody let me know what other fuse it could be!

The 'backup' fuse is how clock, radio and even ECU memory are kept.... time to start tracing! Did this car ever have a custom/aftermarket audio system? People are notorious for grounding **** out.

well the only thing i can think of is this.......the clock n the radio( other stuff too) are connected to a constant power line, that means theres always power to it even when the cars off, maybe it could be that wire ( if u can ever find it) ....good luck

No the car never had a custom radio, but I don't have a helms to trace what wire the constant 12v to the radio/clock is. I know that the constant 12 is gone, and that's why it won't hold the stuff, but I thought maybe there was another fuse for that stuff on Accords (don't know jack about them, drive a Civic)

I'f I'm wrong, slap me. But you can have your grounding tested for a short. I'd say you've got some old exposed wire somewhere tapping the fram intermittently.

But like I said, I'm probably wrong.

The reason I don't think it's that, is it keeps presets and the clock keeps time for as long as you keep the car on. Thanks a ton guys!
