Default Horrible rust problem

I just found out the other day that I have a rust hole developing in the driver's side footwell, below the dead pedal. It's on the floorpan, near the seam where the pan meets the firewall. The undercoating has flaked off in this point and if you shine a light up from the bottom, you can faintly see it from the driver's compartment (not a huge crack, but a crack nonetheless).

Has anyone fixed something like this? Is it worth fixing? My car is giving me no love lately.

if its not that big of a crack, just fix it. make sure to get rid of ALL the rust first, though.

cut out all the rust and have a piece of metal welded into the area that was cutout.

depending on how **** you are, you might want to find a crx in the junk yard that doesn't have rust in the spot in question. you can then have the metal piece welded in.

after your are done welding the metal in, i would use some anti-rust primer/paint on the new and old pieces of metal.

Ok sounds good

Do you know anyone that has had this done and can give estimates on cost/time to complete?

Gonna decide if this is worthwhile or if I should just drive it into the ground... Honda wants $627 for a new floorboard I'll hafta call a wrecker for their quote.
