i hear people talking about making their 1.8 to 2.0...what ways are there to increase displacement?

You can sleeve it, which is the most popular and add pistons, or you could buy a stroker crank from a company like crower and add rods. Either way is not going to be cheap, and will make big power.

what exactly is sleeving and how much do you think it costs plus labor?

You know those things in the block that the pistons go up and down in? Those are the sleeves. They cut those out and put newer, larger ones in there.

i paid 850 for my RS machining sleeving...

hehehe...what you see outside doesn't determine the displacement. It's the dimensions of the bore and stroke inside.
